Our School In Our Community

We made birdhouses at Nelson School

With the help of two Nelson community members, Grandfathers of students, and friends of Nelson School, Ralph Castor and Dale Carlisle helped the students at Nelson School to create beautiful wooden birdhouses.

In Nelson, everyone - younger folk and older folk alike - has a consciousness of belonging to the community. Nelson folk embrace Nelson Elementary School and the school embraces the community. The school is an integral part of Nelson life. Members of the Nelson Elementary School community agree that developing the strengths and talents of all our students is a priority. In-school and after-school programs and activities employ the use of enjoyable and challenging learning experiences that are constructed around students' interests, learning styles, and preferred modes of expression.
